History

Our Roots

Fellowship Baptist Church Markham started as a prayer meeting in the Agincourt area of Scarborough in May 1977 with services held at Alexmuir Jr. Public School in September of that year. Founded by Pastor Thorold Marsaw and his wife, Irene, this flourishing church moved to Agnes McPhail Public School, in August, 1981.

As the FBCM family expanded, a new church building was constructed at its present location 7478 Kennedy Road, Markham in 1988. It is a dedicated free-standing building with a 350-seat main sanctuary equipped with modern presentation and sound system, classrooms, administrative offices, and a fellowship hall for large gatherings and events.
